The colours in the mosaic composed by the Europa Cinemas team’s 2018 top choices swing between warm heartful hues and minimalist cool ones while a slight incursion toward black and white (LETO, COLD WAR) summons the ghostly reverberation of musical notes. Simply put, 2018 was an eclectic year for art house cinema, it was filled with bold unconventional and quirky propositions from the French quartet Gonzalez-Dumont-Denis-Noé, with images of extraordinary genre-redefining women and their feats (GIRL, THREE BILLBOARDS) and with fine diamonds from South Korea (BURNING) and Japan (SHOPLIFTERS).
