Giornate degli Autori: introduction of the jury of the Europa Cinemas Label
28 August - 7 September 2019
Four Network exhibitors from France, Germany, Italy and Czech Republic will take part in the Europa Cinemas Label Jury on the occasion of the upcoming Giornate degli Autori. The Jury members will award one film among the 7 European films out of the official selection.
The four Jury members this year are:
Anne Faucon (Assistant manager, Cinéma Utopia, Tournefeuille, France)
I felt in love with cinema when I was a little girl. I am currently carrying a project to create and manage a new four screen cinema in a town of 5,200 inhabitants (Pont-Sainte-Marie, near Troyes, East of France). This unique cinema will be as environmentally friendly as possible by using wood, straw, renewable energies, water saving. It will be the seventh link in the Utopia network of independent arthouse cinemas (one million spectators a year), in which I have been operating for thirty years. My current role, besides being assistant manager, is transversal in Utopia's circuit. I participate in the programming and writing of film reviews in our programs called "gazette" which looks like real newspapers of around fifty pages, published each month.
Eugenio Fuschini (CEO, Multisala Odeon, Bologna, Italy)
I’m 32 years old and I live in Bologna (Italy). Here, I run a company, Circuito Cinema Bologna, who manages four cinemas located in the historical town center. The film schedule provides only arthouse movies. My job focus is on financial accounting and marketing. My education is however quite different from cinema, in fact I’m graduated in mechanical engineering. The two things do not seem to match at all but it is not really true, you can always apply scientific methods in all you do, and do it better.
Aneta Kohoutová (Executive director, Bio Central, Hradec Králové, Czech Republic)
As an active citizen I always have had a very close relationship to culture. After having graduated in film and theatre theory and history, I returned to my home town to work as an executive director of a small arthouse cinema. Since then I have tried to build a place open for everyone who is looking for a good film, coffee and a new cultural experience.
Erdmann Lange (Programmer & marketing manager, Atlantis & Odeon, Mannheim, Germany)
Erdmann Lange has been working in the cinema business for more than 20 years. He is programmer and marketing manager of Atlantis & Odeon, two arthouse cinemas in Mannheim, Germany, that have been awarded several times for their programming, including two first awards as best cinemas in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. Erdmann Lange served as a jury member for the European cinema network CICAE and the German network AG Kino at several international film festivals such as Locarno, Hamburg, Sarajevo, Vilnius and Berlin. In 2017, he was elected as a member of the “Film Council Rhein-Neckar”. Besides his work in the film industry, Lange is a songwriter and lyricist for several German pop groups and singers.
