« Turnips » at the cinema Les 400 Coups!
Angers
The entrance hall of the cinema Les 400 Coups, whose 7 screens have been closed since March 15, was exceptionally reopened for an event organized with the City of Angers, "adopte ton maraîcher.com" (adopt your market gardener).

From 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, Thursday April 16, the cinema welcomed the BLANCHE family, market gardeners from Rosiers sur Loire, who set up a large stall abundantly supplied with fresh products: radishes, salads, asparagus, turnips, carrots, potatoes, Gariguette strawberries and eggs from their farm a few kilometers from Angers. Nice example of supporting a short food distribution circuit!
In doing so, the 400 Coups renewed with the good old days when the queues went generously up the Jeanne Moreau street towards the Place du Ralliement. Only this time, due to the Covid-19 virus, maintaining distance between each person and barrier gestures.
The media widely reported this event, which was a real success amongst the residents of the city center. The mayor of Angers, Christophe Béchu, present on the spot, added a nice touch of humour : "It is indeed the first time that I see a "turnip"* in the 400 Coups!". To which Claude-Eric Poiroux replied : "It can happen again ... in this period of confinement, of course!"
This happy diversification is exceptional. But it reflects the audience-oriented initiatives that the cinemas of the Network across Europe are currently taking.
We will keep you informed on our website and on Facebook.
Take care of yourself !
*In French, a « navet » (turnip) is a bad movie
