The aim of the Serbian project TEEN KINO is to create a new model for approaching young audiences. Its core idea is to increase the demand for European films by integrating them into teenagers' everyday school life, their leisure time and by introducing them to the film industry. The network of partner cinemas will select 18 European teen films and screen two films in one day once in a month as a regular “Teen film Day”. Each partner cinema will invite young people to three workshops in order to provide them with basic film knowledge. Together with a jury, consisting of three experts working on different festivals, they will select the best Teen short films. These movies will be screened at the Beldocs-International Documentary Film Festival in Belgrade and in the partner cinemas as special screenings. In order to integrate film in teenagers’ everyday school lives, the partner cinemas will establish a film catalogue with European movies addressing the topics of civic education. The project includes the organization of secondary schools’ civic education classes. They will take place in cinemas, screen films from the established catalogue under the presence of chosen guests. Fifteen different film projections are planned.
