Rare Beasts

RARE BEASTS is the first feature film of Billie Piper, the British actress who, as a young girl, danced the pop charts with the single "Because We Want To". For his first adventure behind the camera, Piper choses a sentimental comedy with an unsettling use of irony, playing with tics, paranoia, the frenzies of the contemporary. Amusing and not lacking in depth, one of the most gratifying visions of this first week of the Venice Film Festival 2019, in competition at the Critics' Week.
