Label Jury - Giornate degli Autori 2024
28 August – 7 September
Four Network exhibitors from Czech Republic, Italy, Latvia and Portugal will take part in the Europa Cinemas Label Jury on the occasion of the upcoming Giornate degli Autori (28 Aug – 7 Sept 2024). The Jury members will award one film among the 8 European films out of the “Official selection” and the section “Special Events”.
The four EC Label Jury members are:
Daira Āboliņa (Artistic director, Splendid Palace, Riga, Latvia)
Daira Āboliņa, a PhD candidate at the University of Latvia, holds an MA from the same institution and graduated from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography. She is the Artistic Director of the cinema Splendid Palace and a lecturer at RISEBA University of Applied Sciences. Daira also serves as a film expert and juror at international film festivals both in Latvia and abroad.
António Costa Valente (Director and Programmer, Teatro Aveirense, Aveiro, Portugal)
António Costa Valente directs the programming of Teatro Aveirense and several cinemas in central Portugal. Since 1979, he has directed and programmed the AVANCA Film Festival. He has produced over a hundred films, garnering more than 600 awards, and is a film professor at the University of Algarve.
Andrea Porta (Social Media Manager and Projectionist, Cinema Teatro Nuovo & Cineclub Filmstudio 90, Varese, Italy)
Andrea Porta's love for cinema began with A CLOCKWORK ORANGE. After studying cinema for five years at the University of Turin, Andrea has been working as a social media manager at Cinema Teatro Nuovo and Filmstudio 90 for two years, organizing meetings, courses, and screenings.
Jana Trnková (Programming Director, Kino Světozor, Prague, Czech Republic)
Jana Trnková is the Programming Director of Kino Světozor, a leading art house cinema in the heart of Prague. She began her career at Kino Aero and honed her skills in film distribution with Aerofilms. Currently, she not only programs for Kino Světozor's three halls but also leads the marketing and PR department for the Aerokina group of Prague cinemas.
