This project brings together three cinemas from different contexts to launch an initiative to make European movies accessible to marginalised groups. The core idea of INCLU CINE consists in diversifying the audience of arthouse cinemas by turning them into community hubs promoting equal access.
The project has two phases:
Firstly, the conduction of surveys, interviews and data collection in order to map current inclusive film activities through Europe. The partners will visit and exchange with three arthouse cinemas that excel with accessible spaces and programming, in order to learn best practices and build capacities. Based on these learned lessons, the coordinators will develop and launch inclusive film screenings for audiences with disabilities in all partnering cinemas. Case studies on the best practices will be conducted, in order to develop a website to share valuable data on cinema accessibility for exhibitors and vulnerable audiences. The content will be accessible to the Europa Cinemas network. The partners will host inclusive cinema trainings so that the professionals can develop tools to organize their inclusive film screenings.
The second phases consists in continuing inclusive cinema training, create an inclusive cinema hub and eventually create an inclusive cinema label for venues, festivals, and VOD platforms. As such, the first phase will serve as a basis for the next phase.
